Project Overview

Developed alongside Leon Nimmo as a 3rd year university design project, Wee Book enabled local Dunedin authors, artists, poets & illustrators to contribute their creativity into one big 'Wee book'.

Contributions

This was a truly diverse community project! My role  included: Creating the brand, collaborating  with property brokers, Dunedin district council, book design + production, store design and build, sponsorships and artist liaison.

Dunedin, an UNESCO Creative City

Unknown to the majority of Dunedin residents, the city became NZ’s first UNESCO Creative City when it was awarded ‘City of Literature’ status in 2014.

Our aim with Wee Book was to celebrate the incredible talent of Dunedin's award winning creative community to the wider community. To achieve this, we teamed up with the Urban Dream Brokerage and various sponsors to host a creative space within the city centre. The project ran for 3 weeks and gained regional and nationwide recognition.

Micro-Artisan Publishing

Additional to the community project, we designed, created and published a limited number of books. Wee collaborated with local business owners and creatives to develop a limited production run of books including; a book of poems from a local author and a recipe book using local wild ingredients.
