Project Overview

Working under contract through 360NZ, a local Wānaka land developer required a 3D visual perspective of his land for resource consent. Both a current and future model was created to communicate the development over 5 years.

Contributions

Managing the project, I created both maps and the final render/video. My workflow consisted of Reality Capture> Blender> Sketchup> Lumion> Premiere.

Setting the Scene

To create a future model and the current 400ha site, the workflow required a use of multiple applications. The existing site was captured through drone imagery by 360NZ then sequenced within Drone Deploy. This enabled a Geo-referenced workable scale model that could be modified.

Dressing it up

The primary aim in this project was to create an accurate visual representation of how the land would look after a 5 year period. This included specific elements set by the Lakes District council, such as tree species, heights, location and landscape.
